Blue Turk

This is for my Final Major Project in illustration! It's called Music in Colours. I've been mixing typography with illustration to make images for songs with colours in the title. The point has been to give my interpretation of each song based on how I understand it - backed up by research.

It's a song about necrophilia (the sexual attraction to corpses). I wanted to make an illustration showing how the guy in the song is very interested in the girl to begin with, but then totally loses interest in her. So, I wanted to show how he treats her like a cigarette - something he just throws away when he's done with it.

To hint to the necrophilia theme I drew a girl with skull makeup (inspired by both Día de los Muertos and Alice Cooper himself) to mix the living with the dead.

For the guy I used this image as reference: [link] I found it while roaming the wild lands of Google Images. I can't find the owner of this image, but I've seen it used on several different websites, so I'm guessing it's a stock photo (so if anyone knows where I can find it, please let me know!)

Media/techniques:
Typography made with letterpress. Acrylic paint for splatter, my own textured paper. Guy and girl sketched on paper, then redrawn in photoshop.
